KUCHING: Merdeka Palace Hotel & Suites recently played host to the Asia Pacific Researchers Forum organised by the Sarawak Convention Bureau, supported by International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA).
More than 40 delegates from all over the world, from various organisations dealing with meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) attended the forum.
The objective of this forum was to create an environment in which researchers and business development staff can network and exchange information as well as sharing expertise between colleagues. The two day forum covered topics from : What research is essential for preparing a successful bid up to How to work with Universities presented by Elizabeth Rich , Executive Director Business Events Council Australia.
Prof. Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Head of Cardiology, Sarawak General Hospital vibrant presentation provided an inside view on the Client Perspective – How to approach Association Clients. *
But is was not all about work – there was time to enjoy too :
One of the highlight event for the delegates was the theme welcoming cocktail party ‘Pirates of the Caribbean. Participants were greeted and served by the hotels staff dressed in pirates’ costumes and entertained with upbeat dance performance by hotel staff and a 3-piece stroller band. The itinerary also included a Headhunter’s theme party held at the Sarawak Cultural Village.
