Miri is the second largest city in Sarawak located along the coastline of the South China Sea with a population of 360,000 residents. As Malaysia’s birthplace of the oil and gas industry, Miri is a breakthrough city for great minds in the petrochemical sector; and is equally as strong in the agriculture and oleochemical sector due to the large areas of land occupied by palm oil plantations and mills.
Away from its business environment, Miri is an energetic resort city. Explore the world famous UNESCO site Mount Mulu National Park to experience the largest cave passage on Earth; head to Miri’s city centre where Marina Bay comes to life at night with food stalls and trishaw adventures, while Marina Parkcity is a haven for after-hours fun.
