No More Confusion – Sarawak Convention Bureau

IMG_8535No More Confusion – Sarawak Convention Bureau SCB is launching a new initiative to promote the role and purpose of the bureau to the government agencies of Sarawak KUCHING, 6th June 2014: TheSarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) was established by the State government as a not-for-profit organization, with the primary focus being to win international conventions and to promote Sarawak as destination for high yielding Business Events, a sector of business also known as MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions). Another key task is to address the education of industry and the community.  And in this regard, SCB is keen to send a clear and important message. Public perception has been one of the bureau’s major challenges in seeking support from the community, because the bureau is often mistaken for a convention venue, or an Event Management Company, or even a Professional Conference Organiser. SCB’s Government Awareness Program is a new initiative, one that SCB hopes will clear this confusion and to establish allies in the state government agencies. KNOW SCB & WIN! CONTEST and SCB’s International Convention Scholarship Awardare the two main promotional activities offered by the bureau’s Government Awareness Program.  It will be interactive and informative, and designed to enhance the knowledge of SCB so as to create greater teamwork with the government agencies. Mr Mike Cannon, Managing Director of SCB said, “The bureau is passionate about promoting this beautiful destination for the Business Events industry.  We are excited about seeing the opportunities and outcomes of this campaign, a greater understanding our role, and new connections within the government agencies.”  He continued; “we believe that these stronger connections will enhance our development of Sarawak as a preferred destination for Business Event buyers, and bring greater benefits to the communities of Sarawak, benefits such as greater education, research, foreign exchange and CSR projects.” KNOW SCB & WIN!
