Kuching, Sarawak, 4th December 2015: The Sarawak Convention Bureau, through its Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) campaign stringed together a series of Education Forums; running from Kuching to Miri, and Kuala Lumpur, ending on a high note back in Kuching. Business event partners were empowered through this platform to navigate through today’s challenges in the business events environment, and to come up with possible solutions.
The executive behind the programmes, Director of Industry Development, Mr. Dylan Noel said, “We have developed these programmes in collaboration with our BESarawak campaign. Enrolment into the half-day programmes equipped participants with a distinct edge in organising successful business events for their respective organisations. Ultimately, our objective is to influence change within the attitude of business events personnel by piecing together best practices and standards so as to encourage repeat and referred business.”

Approaching the subject of education passionately, SCB’s Managing Director, Mike Cannon, invited business partners and peers to continually encourage and inspire each other to deliver functional and valuable services. He further commented: “The three-pronged programme of communicating, awarding and educating, introduced by our BESarawak campaign is an apt representation of what needs to take place in the business events scene. Organisations need to play an active and strategic role to strengthen their position as key industry players in their own sectors. Simply, with over 1,000 competitors in over 900 countries; we need to perpetuate our learning and understanding of the landscape to evolve with the changing landscape.”
BESarawak is a special campaign dedicated to all aspects of business events, empowering industry players toward new heights in professionalism and excellence. BESarawak introduces the 3-component programme: Communicating, Educating and Awarding for associations, corporate organisations, government agencies, media and industry partners. BESarawak seeks to educate and mentor its partners and suppliers on what are the global-industry-best-practices they need to adopt in order to attract business events from around the world.
