KUCHING, 9 July 2014: Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr, Caroline Hong as our Australian representative for Sarawak, Malaysia. Dr Caroline Hong is a well-known business leader and experienced business events ambassador for various international and Australian organisations and associations.
Dr Caroline’s work for the homeless at the annual Vinnie’s CEO Sleep out — where CEOs from around Australia experience for one night what it’s like to be without a roof over their heads — is indicative of her fine and giving spirit. 2014 marks the fifth year of Dr Caroline’s participation.
Together with Ms Anedia Kahar, SCB’s Business Development Manager in-charge of the Australian market based in Kuching, Dr Caroline will assist with business development, sales promotions, media relations and marketing programmes in the Australia and New Zealand convention and incentive markets; providing market support for future meeting and incentive planners considering Sarawak for their upcoming events.
In announcing the appointment, Mr Mike Cannon, Managing Director of SCB comments, “We are delighted to have Dr Caroline, an experienced and passionate business events professional on board the Sarawak team. Her vast network and background will complement our current efforts in Australia in building awareness and improving our services to Australian-based meeting planners. Having made a number of successful transitions from clinician dental surgery, to Dental Health Service Director, to Associations CEO (Health & Business), to several Australia & Asia business boards, as well as Business Events, Dr. Caroline comments, “I am very excited to represent Sarawak Convention Bureau in realising its full potential as a globally competitive business events destination with a strong CSR appeal. My experience in Sarawak has provided a personal soul-enriching experience, and I hope to use that in pushing the Bureau’s sales and marketing efforts even further.”
