SCB is encouraging delegates to visit Sarawak through the “7 Wonders of Borneo’’ campaign, which refers to the seven unique features of Sarawak: the Orang-utan; the world’s largest flower, the Rafflesia; Mount Mulu; the State’s many indigenous tribes; the Rajah Brooke Butterfly, Tropical Pitcher Plants (Nepenthes), which are amongst the world’s largest carnivorous plants; and the State’s colonial history.

As part of its “7 Wonders of Borneo” campaign, SCB is offering AuSAE delegates the opportunity to win and be part of the campaign’s familiarisation tour to Sarawak. The all-expenses paid tour includes two business-class return flights from any major cities in Australia to Kuching with Malaysia Airlines and accommodation at a five-star hotel in the State.

Leading SCB’s Brisbane-bound contingent was Amelia Roziman, SCB Global Marketing and Communications Director, along with Anedia Kahar and Jason Tan from the SCB Business Development division, and SCB’s Australian representative, Dr. Caroline Hong.

In response to being asked about Sarawak’s attractiveness as a business events destination, SCB’s Amelia Roziman, said: “Sarawak has all the right ingredients for Australian business events, but this exhibition is also about highlighting Sarawak’s attractiveness as a longer term business investment. Through the Government-supported Sarawak Corridor of renewable Energy (SCORE) project, the State of Sarawak is undergoing an economic renaissance, offering immense and very attractive investment opportunities for Australian businesses. By focussing on the development of the State’s energy sector, Sarawak is opening up renewable and competitively priced energy options for investors, as well as excellent connectivity and access to new markets, with downstream opportunities for other Australian businesses. There is also a special impetus on developing the health, education and security sectors, in addition to the energy-intensive industries of SCORE, presenting excellent opportunities for Australian companies in those sectors that are looking to expand.”

Dr. Caroline Hong, SCB’s Australian representative, added: “Beyond the exceptional facilities and resources, the beauty, wildlife, captivating landscape, hospitable culture of Sarawak and its people, we also wanted to showcase to the Australian and New Zealand delegates in Brisbane SCB’s successful track record in hosting events. SCB’s expertise to make every visit to Sarawak as seamless as it is memorable is the perfect springboard for Australian businesses to experience Sarawak and all the opportunities it offers.

“We believe the best way for potential clients to understand the benefits of hosting a business event in Sarawak is simply to be there and experience the sights and sounds of the State.

“With affordable new products and hotels, breath-taking beauty, a unique and enchanting culture – coupled with world-class technology and facilities – Sarawak is a truly holistic and unforgettable destination for Australian businesses who want to go the extra mile to achieve the extra mile. That is why we offered such a fantastic prize as part of the AuSAE conference.” added Dr. Hong.

The draw of the lucky winners was made on the 24 June 2015, followed by an announcement of winners on the 25 June 2015 through SCB’s Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/BE.Sarawak.

Of the 200 delegates of this year’s AuSAE, two lucky winners were selected. The lucky winners were Mr. Stephen Lake from Professional Association Management Services (PAMS) and Mr. Nick Koebin from Association Executive Services.
