KUCHING, 26 May 2015 – Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) recently launched a new programme entitled Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak), aimed at developing the business events sector in the State of Sarawak, Malaysia. BESarawak, launched by YB Dato’ Sri Dr. Muhammad Leo Michael Toyad Abdullah, Chairman of Sarawak Convention Bureau, focuses on the opportunities that exist in the business events sector in Sarawak by taking advantage of the regional growth areas that occur outside the State.
From its three-component programme, BESarawak rewards the business events sector with a strategic partnership that offers multiple benefits: Communicating, Educating and Awarding. Working alongside its key partners within associations, corporations, government agencies, industry partners and the media, BESarawak intends to leverage on international and national business events industry partners to amplify Sarawak’s unique offerings to a global and diverse audience.
The Chairman said: “BESarawak offers its partners an advanced communications campaign that includes stakeholder engagement, media relations, social media and an exclusive “Business Events Sarawak” magazine, underpinned by SCB’s unrivalled understanding of the Sarawak business landscape. In order to ensure sustainable and continued business in the State and beyond, BESarawak will develop its partners’ global-industry best practices through bespoke and highly targeted seminars, ensuring they are equipped to meet the challenges of what is an unpredictable global business environment.’’

This is especially pertinent as Sarawak has the honour of hosting the prestigious 55th ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) Congress next year.”
