Despite global economic downturns Sarawak placed itself successfully into the mind set of meeting Planners to choose Sarawak as their next meeting venue. The Bureau enjoys a high bid success ratio of 70 per cent. In the first quarter of 2009 the Bureau bid for 22 conventions with 12 wins and 5 losses, generating close to RM 5.5 Mio in revenue for the State.

Miri will be host to twelve representatives from Destination Management Companies and MICE Travel Agents from KL, Sabah and Brunei as part of a five-day Borneo Exploration site inspection organised by the Sarawak Conventions Bureau (SCB) to showcase Northern Sarawak as a world-class meetings destination.
In preparing for the group, the Bureau partnered with Transworld Travel Services Sdn Bhd to handle the site groups program and showcase the facilities in both Miri and Mulu to meeting planners.
